Magazine Project Research - PHOTOGRAPHS

This second magazine that I am going to be studying and analyzing is from Fix-It and Forget-It magazines, and is Our Best Slow-Cooker Recipes edition. Since my first magazine analyzing method was specifically on the cover of the Food Network magazine, Happy Baking,  I am going to go in to depth about why the pictures throughout a magazine is such a very crucial and important aspect of a successfully created magazine. Including pictures on the cover of the magazine of delicious looking meals will introduce what specifics will be in the magazine and what the important parts of the magazine are going to include. It is a hook to the viewer. Opening to the next page with more meals and appetizers will give the viewer more of an idea on what exactly this magazine will be mainly about. Coming to the table of contents page, it is important to have some pictures of plates of food, showing what they are, the name of the meal and where this recipe will be in the magazine. Finally, the point of pictures throughout the magazine is to show the viewer what these meals look like, the grab the viewers attention to a well prepared, good looking meal and have or make them interested in maybe reading more about that meal and its recipe. In total, there are over 80 pictures throughout this whole magazine of all different kinds of meals prepared. In conclusion, when creating and finalizing a magazine, photographs are very important and a key concept to a successful magazine.
